Are you looking for someone to finally explain simple ways to complete cardio exercise without torturing your body? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered when it comes to lower impact cardio. Say good-bye to the struggle, because I’m going to teach you some easy moves you can do to squeeze some cardio into your day. Let’s look at how it’s done.
Your heart has to pump blood all the way to your extremities-so if they’re farther away from your heart, your heart has to work a little harder to pump blood that extra distance.
GET BIG
Extend those arms all the way out! You’re creating the most distance from your heart to your fingertips. You’re creating distance that your blood will have to travel from your pumping heart.
GET MOVING
Move those arms up and down. Arm circles large and small. You are now creating range of motion that your heart will have to pump blood harder to compensate for the different directions.
CHANGE SPEEDS
If you are doing fast arm circles, slow down so your heart can have break. You don’t want to go super-fast for an extended period, you’ll just create exhaustion. Your heart is a muscle that needs to be worked–like lifting weights for your biceps. Confusing the muscles by changing speeds will build the strength and keep it strong.
CHANGE DIRECTIONS
Just like changing speeds confuses muscles, so does changing direction. If you’re doing forward arm circles, change them into reverse circles. Small circles to big circles in opposite directions.
Now that you’ve got some tips on how to move those extremities, give them a try and sneak a little cardio that your heart needs, while saving some stress on your joints.
