Are you starting something new because you WANT to or because you NEED to?
When you start something new, you often feel confused and overwhelmed. The truth is- it happens to everyone to some extent. In this post, I’m going to provide some techniques that will help reduce your angst and help you get over that speed bump. Let’s get started!
LEARN
Find someone that has been or currently is successful at what you’re trying to do! Make observations and take notes of the things they are doing. If you know this person directly, ask if they have any suggestions for resources. Pace yourself so you don’t burnout from information overload! Learn small snippets at a time. This will allow you to digest the information, process it, and avoid information overload.
TAKE ACTION
Training is important, but won’t get you anywhere until YOU TAKE ACTION! Experiment with the knowledge and build new skills and step out of your comfort zone. Growth is awkward and uncomfortable ONLY because it is unfamiliar. You are likely to make mistakes. Turn those mistakes into LESSONS. Let’s face it any GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) didn’t become great overnight. Practice and figure out what works best for YOU!
TEACH
Become the resource! Combine the information from the resources you got in the LEARN phase and lessons you learned from the TAKE ACTION phase. You get the opportunity to review everything that worked for you and could help someone else along the way……a win, win!
DREAM BIG, think small! How do you get you up the mountain? It’s easier achieved through building steps, than by one leaping bound!
